Design for now. Build for always.
Frank Gehry said buildings should be timely and timeless
Walking downtown Toronto today.
Caught a glimpse of a building that felt like now.
Clean lines. New glass. A kind of confidence.
And then I remembered something Frank Gehry once said.
That architecture should be both timely and timeless.
Of this moment. But not trapped in it.
Something the future can still live with.
That stuck with me.
Because what if we designed everything that way?
Not just buildings.
But websites. Meals. Brands. Products. Playlists.
Even the way we host, welcome, show up.
What if everything we created held both a pulse and a permanence?
Built with an awareness of now.
But also a sense of cultural endurance?
That’s not easy.
But maybe it’s worth aiming for.
Something that says…
“This is ours.”
And also…
“This will last.”
